How to Recycle Old Tiles in Your Home

Recycling old tiles in your home can be difficult. Your old ceramic and porcelain tiles can be recycled or reused in so many ways. Places that recycle ceramic and porcelain tiles exist, but they are rare. Unless you live near a tiles recycling company, it is better to try to think about ways to reuse them in your home.


1. Repair them:


If your bathroom tile is broken and you can’t afford to change it yet. Break the \tiles into small pieces with a hammer, apply a teaspoon of tile adhesive to each broken piece and stick the pieces of ceramic tile on to surface. Work quickly to glue each piece down because tile adhesive dries fast. Wear latex gloves to protect your hands. Repairing these tiles can add a finish to your bathroom and its look is changed. These tiles can’t compete with new ones but they can look good.


2. Use in Garden:


Pour some amount of concrete stepping stones and press tiles into them to make best, functional garden accents. Attach them to the pots and of large plants. Use them to make hopscotch patterns for children. Let your imagination run wild when reusing tiles for these purposes. It is possible that your old ceramic and porcelain tiles will break when you remove them from your bathroom or kitchen. 3. Use on Patio or Yard:


Disposing of bathroom tiles, including ceramic, porcelain and other types, is a challenging task. From broken tiles to ones that are caked with dirt and grime, you don't want to dump the old bathroom tiles in your garbage. You can cut them into pieces and can make various designs from it. Moroccan tiles are already quite beautiful, you can shape them into collage or use in stone decoration.
